Welcome to the Robot Intelligence and Vision Laboratory

The Robot Intelligence and Vision Laboratory (RIV Lab) was founded by Dr. Khotanlou in 2008 as part of Computer Engineering Department at Bu-Ali Sina University. Over these years, more than 10 researcher worked on different aspects of Artificial Intelligence such as Machine Learning, Pattern Recognition, Fuzzy Systems and Medical Image Processing.
Today , There are two main research groups in the Lab. The Robot Intelligence group mainly focuses on Human-Robot Interaction and Social Path-Planning. They develop spatial Interaction algorithms to apply social conventions to Robot Navigation. The Vision group is active in several research area, such as human gestures and 3d face recognition.
